Orange County Public Law Library is a Federal and State of California selective depository.

Congress established the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) to provide free public access to federal government information. The program’s origins date to 1813; the current structure of the program was established in 1962 and is overseen by the Government Printing Office (GPO). Access to government information is provided through a network of depository libraries across the United States.

Libraries that are California State depository libraries receive publications produced or distributed by California state agencies.

In 1975, the Orange County Public Law Library (OCPLL) was designated as a selective depository library. As a selective library, OCPLL selects those materials that coincide with the subject areas of our collection. Materials, which are included in our Catalog, are in a variety of formats and are located in many locations within the Library.
