Internet Based Legal Research

OCPLL provides free public access to the Internet for patrons of the library. The law library also subscribes to legal research databases on the Internet. These services are only available from the 6 public computers at the Law Library. Printing is 15˘ a page.
CEB California Practice Libraries: These five libraries contain over 50 of the most popular CEB publications: Business Library, Civil Litigation Library, Criminal Law Library, Employment, Real Property Library and the Estate Planning Library.
HEIN ON-LINE is a Web based program offering the full text version of many legal journals and law reviews. The program features an electronic table of contents for each volume, direct access by official citation and volumes rendered as exact page images, and searchable, displayable and copyable full text.
INDEXMASTER: This database allows legal researchers to locate and access the index and tables of contents of over 6000 legal treatises covering a wide variety of subject matter.
LegalTrac™ on InfoTrac Web: LegalTrac™ provides indexing for approximately 1300 titles including major law reviews, legal newspapers, bar association journals and international legal journals. Each title included in LegalTrac™ is selected on the basis of criteria provided by a special advisory committee of the American Association of Law Libraries. LegalTrac™ also contains law-related articles from over 1,000 additional business and general interest titles. Searches can be done by author, article name, journal name, subject or keyword. LegalTrac's coverage begins in 1980 and the database is updated daily.
SHEPARDS: The Library subscribes to the Lexis/Nexis PUBLIC SHEPARD'S database, which provides access to citations for all Federal and all 50 states jurisdictions. Users may e-mail or fax results from the Lexis/Nexis Public Shepard's Website free of charge.
