LEGAL RESEARCH PROGRAMS CD-ROM Based Legal Research Programs Internet Based Legal Research Programs Using the legal research programs is a free service of the Library. No user costs are involved except for printing search results, currently 15¢ per page. A basic knowledge of the Windows operating system, mouse and keyboard is necessary to use these legal research programs. The Library staff will provide only limited instruction on the specific programs, although user guides are available for self instruction.
	CA Library: (formerly known as Authority) The California Law & Practice library is currently available. This data base contains the full text of over 35 of the most used Matthew Bender treatises, such as California Forms of Pleading and Practice and California Points and Authorities.
	CEB - California Continuing Education of the Bar. The largest source of Web-based California legal commentary and analysis with clear and simple interface. All citations of California cases and codes in the text linked to the primary law. Attorney drafted forms fully integrated into the text, with clauses accompanied by explanations and directions and Ranked Search results.
	HEIN ON-LINE is a Web based program offering the full text version of many legal journals and law reviews. The program features an electronic table of contents for each volume, with direct access by official citation and is searchable. Volumes are rendered as full text exact page images that can be copied.
	DISSOMASTER: The CFLR DissoMaster Suite is a Windows®-based CD-ROM application that calculates family law child- and spousal-support based on California family law and relevant tax codes. The software has been approved by the Judicial Council of California for use in all state courts.
	LegalTrac™ on InfoTrac Web: LegalTrac™ provides indexing for approximately 1300 titles including major law reviews, legal newspapers, bar association journals and international legal journals. Each title included in LegalTrac™ is selected on the basis of criteria provided by a special advisory committee of the American Association of Law Libraries. LegalTrac™ also contains law-related articles from over 1,000 additional business and general interest titles. Searches can be done by author, article name, journal name, subject or keyword. LegalTrac's coverage begins in 1980 and the database is updated daily.
	LLMCDigital - Law Library Microform Consortium offers full text public domain government documents. LLMCDigital comprises the world's largest collection of legal literature and government documents in microform.
	WESTLAW - Case law, statutes, and regulations, The Rutter Group, Witkin Library, : Federal and all 50 states. KeyCite®.

Please note: The reliability of our computer network is given a very high priority. But from time to time routine network maintenance or power outages may cause the computer network to be shut down. The public computers are not available on Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 noon. In addition, they are shut down 15 minutes prior to closing (M-Th 7:45 PM, Fri 5:45 PM and Sat 4:45 PM).
